Real Estate Acquisition, Funding and Senior Management
Thomas Beyer is the president of Prestigious Properties Group (“PPG” or “Prestigious”) with extensive experience in real estate investment, development and property management since 1997, having transacted well over $250M in residential real estate since. With an MBA and experience in complex software projects, sales and marketing of sophisticated IBM software systems, multi-unit apartment building, residential property management, land acquisitions and land development Thomas has targeted up and coming growth regions of Canada and the United States, such as Alberta, BC and Texas where Prestigious currently (as of summer 2016) owns multiple assets or development projects valued at over $100M. The focus has shifted from Alberta to BC in 2014 after the prolonged oil slump started in Alberta compounded by reckless and inexperienced politicians elected in May 2015. The main principal of Prestigious is the lead investor of this exciting Oliver Landing project in Oliver, BC to build 140+ affordable townhomes. He is happily married with two adult children. He is a long time REIN (Real Estate Investment Network) member and has won the REIN “Top Player of the Year” award annually from 2005 to 2010 and in 2011 the prestigious “Michael Millenaar Leadership Award” for helping and mentoring others succeed in their real estate ventures.
From 2011 to 2014 Thomas Beyer served as a director of the UNA (University Neighborhood Association), the municipal-like council for permanent residents residing on UBC Campus, initially as its Vice-Chair and later as its Treasurer and Chair, Finance Committee. He is currently a task force member of a financial sustainability committee jointly staffed by UBC and UNA to address various financial challenges in the community due to the declining mill rates tied to the Vancouver property market.
He invests his own money and that of other people to create wealth for himself, his co-investors and for the communities at large through improved property values, better buildings, affordable housing and more ethical business, HR, marketing and sub-contractor principles.
He is the author of the book “80 Lessons Learned on the road from $80,000 to $80,000,000” with a foreword by Don R Campbell and a co-author with Ozzie Jurock of the best selling book “Real Estate Action 2.0”. He is an occasional speaker at both Ozzie Jurock’s Landrush Conferences, REIN events or Michael Campbell’s MoneyTalks conferences.
